Red Bull in the morning can be dangerous. This day felt very much like a sine curve.

That is one reason why some people want to leave the country… Dumb-ass politicians. Can’t they just do their jobs?

And you, military man, the gall of you to call on “loving” and “decent” Filipinos when there is nothing decent in what you are doing. Loving, possible. But decent??

I smell Martial Law brewing.

They effin’ called my Mom!Mom thought the dude was alright at first until he refused to tell us from which company he was from and he used the oh so famous, “you sound so professional on the phone, so I assume you wouldn’t be backing out on this meeting of ours” crap. And that just gave him away.I have a few speculations regarding this phone call:One, he knew my Mom’s whole name, which she never gave away in the blogosphere. Two, if Mom was really headhunted, the headhunters should’ve known that she had already retired and from what company she came from. And they could’ve also passed by her blog and my blog and the two controversial entries for crying out loud.Three, he said their business doesn’t conduct things online. Well, do a Google search and look for 15th floor Octagon and there are tons of sites about it. Either advertising or ranting blogs. The presence of the ads adds to the speculation because he said that they don’t conduct business online. Well they contacted a friend of mine through e-mail a while back! Why couldn’t they contact my Mom the same way too?Four, is around 7 in the evening still part of office hours?Five, he said on the phone call it was for an interview. He said on the text message it was for a soft launching. So ano ba talaga?Six, he was able to make my Mom blindly agree to meeting him. How? By not divulging any details besides Ortigas or Makati in the phone call. He just texted the exact place and time. So much for professionalism. Do you just text potential employees for your company?Seven, he never mentioned what company he was from. When Mom asked about Pharmanex, he pretended not to know what it was. I mean, is the 15th floor of the Octagon Building so big that offices wouldn’t know what offices are beside them? Finally, he texts Mom at 2:30 in the morning, saying “[...] You can’t make a decision with only bits and pieces of information [...] I promise you, I will answer all your concerns.” So how the heck could she make a decision while all the while you refuse to give her information? So she effin’ has to go there to make an effin’ decision? It’s very easy to answer questions over the phone, so why couldn’t he do that? Why couldn’t he give Mom a straight answer? Why does he have to do it through text messaging? And what’s with the angry tone in the rest of the text message?I don’t know about you guys, but, if that’s how a company does it’s recruitment, then count me out.Anyways, before the haters start attacking all over again, let me just say this (again): we are not condemning the company. We are condemning the recruitment style.Thank you, and have a nice day.PS I’m bracing Mom for the attacks. They might come in a few months.PPS I’m on top 1 on Google when you enter “15th floor octagon!” LOL

If only all my second sem grades were like this:

Uno galore. HAHAHA.

Pahabol:
Physics111: 2.50 (OYEAH!)
Math55: 5.00

To my parents: I deeply apologize for the 5.00 listed up there. I know both of you work very hard to put me to school, and failing that 3 unit course was like throwing P900 away, but, don’t worry, I’ll try to make up for it next semester. I was just too distracted and affected in the final stretch of the sem (and I think you know why). Pero promise, hindi ako nagpabaya nung sem na yun. I have 7 units worth of uno, so that’s like P2100 worth of uno, diba? :D Love ko kayo! :D

We got our hopes up. Turns out, only three meters of property was demolished and I hope that’s as bad as it gets. But anyway, the MMDA are freaking con artists! ‘Baklasin lahat niyan! TEN METERS!!’ huh. My ass. They said if we gave them money they might be able to talk their superiors out of it. WHATEVER. They just wanted some mullah. It wasn’t supposed to be 10 meters really, but them sidewalk-vendor-burning squads were too highly evolved not to think of something brilliant to save the day. After some moments of confusion and senseless attempts at conversation, dad finally understood what Mr. MMDA was trying to say; Cough up the cash and maybe we could put a stop to all of this.

How much did he want? a thousand? five thousand? No.
He wanted a hundred thousand pesos.

[...]

The next day, the real superior came to the demolition site and told everyone, “Three meters. That’s all.”
Yeah. suck up Mr. MMDA. And never ever show your face here again.

[...] You just don’t know how it feels like to be kicked out of your own place, and done so in a way that’s deprived of all sensitivity. You don’t know how horrible it is to watch how a helpless old man is beaten into pulp. To watch him cry as his cart bursts into flames. To see policemen shout and threaten witnesses. [...] To see all that, and know that you can’t do anything about it. To know how much everyone else have to suffer, and to come to realize, that what you thought would always be there could be gone in just the span of a day. You don’t know how it feels like.

It was raining like hell this afternoon, and I wanted to bring the car to school even if the MMDA vehicle coding scheme did not permit me to do so. I was even preparing a few hundred peso bills in case I would get caught by the authorities. But I was doubting it since the boundary between UP and my village was but a small traverse. But, then I thought, “what if not all officers are like that? What if he didn’t accept my 200 pesos?”

So I went against bringing the car to school.

Tsk tsk. Dalawa na atraso sa akin ng UST cheering people.

First is their controversial picture wherein some of them were flashing the dirty fingers in front of the UP pep’s dressing room.

Second is what they did after this afternoon’s game.

Ateneo and UST has always been cheering for each other before/after games, Ateneo cheering the “go uste,” and UST cheering “go Ateneo.”

Ateneo just did that this afternoon. Go uste, complete with the drums. But UST, instead of doing the usual friendship cheers, drummed a “go La Salle, go, go La Salle!”

Sheesh.

Guess what Babble did?

“U-nibersidad! Ng Pilipinas! U-nibersidad! Ng Pilipinas!”

HAHA.

Users of social media have a knack of blowing things out of proportion. Usually, one user would just need to write a few of controversial information, in which, a number of followers/believers would take on. An online/public outrage then follows.

Usually, it would end up in a gigantic snowball effect.

This has happened already too many times. I myself have written a few controversial posts which, according to my Mom, have gained a small following and even spurted a few initiatives.

Anyways. I was not surprised at how a blog entry of a UP student regarding tactless UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe members has caused a massive online outrage in both UP and UST students.

I know I’ve been biased towards my alma maters when it comes to the competitions (Ateneo for basketball, UP for cheering and dancing), so I understand where these numerous commentators come from. I mean, if something (or someone) that is a part of me was attacked, I would immediately retaliate with a few strong words of my own.

The only problem I have with a lot of commentators is that either they don’t know how to read, they don’t read on purpose, or they have read the preceding arguments but pretend to have ignored what they have read.

If you look at a few controversial massively-replied articles, blog entries or comments, most of the replies end up being redundant.

For example, in the UST SDT controversy, numerous commentators end up reposting (copy-pasting) their own comments because a few others continue to write and rebut without even reading previous arguments first.

I know copy-pasting your own comment feels like sh*t (been there, done that), but, how could you get your point across when the one you’re debating with doesn’t even read your argument?

Worse is that people end up stating arguments that are of no relation with the subject matter. I even read somewhere in the comments section of the linked article that a Thomasian is blaming the behavior of outraged UP commentators on the lack of religion in the State University. And I quote,

sublimeannuh wrote on Sep 20

I can’t blame you, walang religion sa UP. Maybe hindi lang talaga sanay na ganyan ang attitude ng IBANG Thomasians. Kasi KUNG (kung lang) Up ang gumawa niyan, hindi na kagulat-gulat. I guess you already know why.

So, wow. What kind of argument is that, eh?

And then the cycle goes on. Until now, people are posting comments on the concerned entry. Though things have cooled down a bit. :)

Anyways. Which laboratory in the the NIP deals with complex network analysis? Issues like these could make up a very good thesis proposal. Hahaha. And yes, I hope that I can survive long enough to make a thesis of my own. XD

UAAP = Wrestling?

ADMU DLSU

Now if it was a wrestling match, I’d gladly give the title to Walsham. But it’s the UAAP Men’s Basketball, not Men’s Wrestling. Jeez.

Anyways. I still don’t get it why people idolize Maierhoffer. I admit, he’s good, but he’s mayabang (wow so conyo). He could’ve been a favorite, but his yabang-ness turns me off.

When Chris Tiu sinks a shot, he just smiles. When Rico does, he raises his hands and looks at the other players with a “kaya niyo ba yun?” look.

Remember his “game winning shot,” complete with his “game winning face?” HAHA.

GUSTO KO NANG MAG-SEMBREAK. Gusto ko nang tapusin tong lintik na sem na ito. This has been the worst sem so far due to what they call Math55 and Physics111.

Gusto ko nang bumalik si Manong Driver. Bringing a car to school is fun. But bringing your other siblings to their schools is not. Katipunan is HELL in the morning. Fetching is alright.

Gusto ko nang matapos ang UAAP. Dapat kasi nanalo na yung Ateneo sa NU or Nanalo yung La Salle sa UE. Pagod na yung mga tao sa kanunuod (or baka ako lang yun?). Yesterday’s game is a prime example. The ADMU-DLSU crowd wasn’t the same crowd of ADMU-DLSU 2. Araneta wasn’t even full!

Oh well. Rant rant rant.

I cut Physics 71. Hahaha. I badly wanted my weekend to start.

My brain was constantly battered throughout the day. Physics 111 we had this long, long seatwork. Geology exam was a mess (I couldn’t differentiate between metamorphic and igneous, tsk). And math, let’s not talk about math. Hahaha.

Come 2:30 the back of my head was already throbbing with pain, so I decided to go home.

Thank God, it’s finally Friday.

Sep 6

I am TIRED, and the week isn’t over yet. Deymn.

I have tons of problem sets due tomorrow. We tried answering one in our Physics111 make-up class, and guess what, we answered only 1 problem in a span of an hour and 15 mins. So pano pa kaya yung iba noh?

Ma’am Jing said we have an option if we would want to submit our answers or not. After all, she said just try to answer what we can actually answer. So if I can’t answer a single question, then I’d end up not submitting anything, HAHAHA.

I have a Geology laboratory exam tomorrow and I HAVEN’T STARTED STUDYING YET. The drain from the Math55 second long exam was just too much. I ended up not studying for the Geology lecture exam I had this morning (which wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Thank God for the makeup+review class).

This morning, instead of taking a jeep to the gym, I WALKED. HAHAHA. Stupid me.

These past few weeks, I have always been late for PE. The Katipunan traffic is just too much that it extends to CP Garcia and a part of the Acad oval, where the Ikot jeep passes by. The 15 minute jeep ride turns into 30-45 minutes. So I walked, in hopes that I wouldn’t be marked late (it took me around 15 minutes to get to the gym on foot). And guess what, Ma’am Lalaine DIDN’T CHECK ATTENDANCE. Argh.

And now, I’m almost cashless. I still have yet to deposit P2000 in the bank so they’d not cancel my account.

Oh well.

All this blogosphere hullaballoo has reminded me of how early tribespeople acted: not yours, outside your territory, different views from yours, does not give in to your demands, refuses to acknowledge you power, more powerful than you are, ATTAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!

Have been playing Civilizations 3 recently, and usually this was the case when I settle along the borders of other countries. Threats (and extortion!) first from other countries, and then the attacks.

Well, the Filipino blogosphere is still somewhat young. It’s very vulnerable to circles attacking each other.

That’s what happens when you give too much power to a person. And blogging gives us power, a lot of it.

EDIT: Well, it’s controversy after controversy. Hay.

I like what Rick of ProjectManila.com said in Gibbs Cadiz’ post.

I miss the days when blogging was simple and personal. Blogging used to be more fun.

Hay. I miss

Ateneo coach Norman Black maintained that, although a substitution had been called, Long did not step inside the court together with Laterre. He ordered Reyes back in since only four players were on the court.

The referees called a technical foul on Reyes for entering the court without permission from the officials’ table.

But La Salle coach Franz Pumaren pointed out that the game had resumed when Black, realizing his team’s error, physically pulled Long back to the sidelines and ordered Reyes to rush back in.

“On our part, that’s what we saw that’s why we filed a protest,” Pumaren said. “It can be clearly seen on tape.”

-from Inquirer.net

So what? Buti nga nakita na nagkamali eh. Buti nga pinansin. Whatever happened two years ago? Sino yung nagkamali, tapos sinadyang hindi pansinin?

Tsk tsk.

Wag naman kasi kayong masiyadong bitter.

Ito ang tinatawag nilang “yabang ng Atenista.” BWAHAHAHAHA

A picture, from ages ago… Basahin niyo lang yung shirt
