Tulog? Tugtog!

It was my first summer afternoon. Hahaha. But instead of catching up on what I missed most the past sem (read: sleep), I went shopping. Hehehe.

You see, my iPod earphones conked out a long time ago. So, I got them replaced with a pair of cheap Philips earphones, just to fill-in for the job of providing me with my music. After a few months of “rigorous” use (jogging, commuting, etc etc), as expected, they conked out too. Good thing I was already able to save up for a pair of rocking earphones.

The first plan was to spend all the money I had on a pair of earphones. But, after canvassing for an hour, I felt that spending P2k++ ($40) for a pair of earphones was not worth it. So I lowered my budget to less than P1k.

Alas, in The Block’s Appliance Center, I found a pair of kick-ass earphones.

Meet the Philips SHS420 in-ear lasso earphones

Cost me around P900+ ($18). Hahah. But for me, it was definitely worth it. Perfectly fits my small ears. No more slips! Sound is crisp too. I was able to listen to my tunes while I was in a jeep amidst Quezon City’s traffic.

The only problem I had is it was a bit tricky to put in my ears, as the lasso gets tangled. But after you were able to fit it to your ear, you need not care anymore.

So what happened to the other P1k ($21)? My spending hand kinda got trigger-happy, so I spent it on something else.

I bought myself a Portable Stereo Speaker (hey, that’s what it actually says there).

The insides of the portable speakers.
Just exchange the Shuffle with a Nano and we’re good to go. Hehe.

For a set of cheap battery-operated portable speakers, it has good sound quality. But of course, the JBL and Altec Lansing speakers pwn, but hello? I’m on a tight budget here. I guess it’s kinda loud too, as I am not using it at maximum volume. The only problem I saw here is that I have to open, close, and open again and then close again when I am choosing songs. But hey, that can be solved by the thingies that we call “playlists.”

It’s a good storage pouch too, as I can stuff both my iPod and earphones inside and not worry about them falling off.

Anyways, I have to be wrapping-up this pseudo-review as my tulog-sense is tingling.

All in all, I find both products good-buys. I was a very very satisfied customer. Hehehe. Yahoo, music :D
