Bababa ba?

So yeah, I’m reminiscing about my recently concluded freshman year (plus summer!). Check out the checklist below. Hehehe. Weird questions it has. :p

[x] worried about getting bullied by fratmen or getting killed in a riot

[ ] witnessed a riot
[ ] watched the Oblation Run (di ko naabutan. Hahaha)
[x] made friends with a teacher
[ ] was tricked as a freshman into attending a rally / prayer meeting
[x] wore red or black on one of those wear red or wear black days (nagkataon lang)
[ ] wore red on Valentine’s Day
[ ] wore black on Valentine’s Day
[ ] celebrated a birthday at Mang Jimmy’s
[x] learned UP Naming Mahal (and immediately forgot it. lol)
[x] got on the dean’s list as CS or US (first sem. oyeh!)
[ ] slept on a bench
[ ] was an RA (registration assistant) or SA
[ ] lied or begged to an RA for a slot in class
[ ] participated in a there’s-only-one-more-slot-are you-feeling-lucky?
[x] jogged around the campus (irregularly. lol)
[ ] visited the Vargas Museum (almost. but it was closed)
[x] knew at least one xerox lady, manong, or technician by name
[ ] attended university level graduation
[ ] got an activist for a teacher
[x] watched a La Salle vs. Ateneo UAAP game (although not last schoolyear. wala lasalle e)
[x] watched a UP vs. any school basketball game (aylavet)
[x] gave a powerpoint presentation (kas2! hahahaha. we had the “most decent” presentation)
[x] studied in CASAA (it was hell)
[ ] studied in McDonald’s or Jollibee Philcoa for one full night and bought just one regular-sized drink (I do this in Katipunan, hahaha)
[x] studied along Katipunan
[x] studied along Katipunan and affected the mannerisms of a stereotypical Atenean (LOL. yah nga! like, duh. i do that noh. I find it weird how some people get their accents when they start studying in the ateneo)
[x] watch a play that’s not required for CommIII (lots of ‘em)
[x] went stargazing
[x] ate in Chocolate Kiss, Tea Room (in CHE) or Chateau Verde (of course.)
[ ] slept in the lib (almost. but I had this fear of oversleeping and waking up locked inside a closed library)
[ ] struck up a conversation with a taong grasa
[ ] wrote to / for the collegian.
[x] seriously pondered about the identity/ies of the people described in Eksenang Peyups (what if I knew these people? hahaha)
[x] went to the chapel (every now and then. almost went to mass this afternoon)
[x] got a pebble stuck in your shoe/slippers while walking in Sunken Garden (and I looked stupid trying to get it out)
[ ] cut class with your block to watch a movie (but I cut stat115 to eat in Max’s, crappy service and all)
[ ] had a voltes V for a teacher
[ ] took a class under Joseph Palis
[ ] lied to the transcript lady to get a transcript earlier than the standard 3 months
[x] went to a Freshman-only concert (where you had to show your form 5 to prove freshmanhood) (yes, yes, yes! hahaha. became friends with psychos, este, psych freshies in the process)
[ ] subsisted on just streetfood (fishballs, half footlongs, kwekwek, squidballs/rolls, mais, dirty ice cream) for a day
[ ] learned how to smoke
[x] went on an out-of-town trip with blockmates or orgmates (does farm camp count?)
[x] fell in love
[ ] actually read the book you keep borrowing from the lib
[x] played cards during your free time (hobby namin yun)
[ ] dress in business attire
[ ] sumabit sa jeep
[ ] got sung to or sung to someone in class during Valentine’s day
[x] watched the lantern parade (it was scary. with the marauding crowd and all, near the college of law)
[x] helped out a total stranger (just this morning. lost freshies and transferres in the physical exam. hahaha)

[ ] learned to stay awake for more than 24 or 48 hours straight
[ ] got bullied by fratmen and feeling cool wannabe people who were actually losers
[x] took Wednesday and/or Sat classes WILLINGLY (social dancing on wednesdays, beybeh! 7am pa at that! and I wanted to take the wednesday socsci3. tsk)

[ ] ate “tasteless white sauce” pasta from cock-a-noodle-doo
[x] got a boyfriend/girlfriend
[x] took time to read the vandalism in the CR (magina = mahina! yeah, that’s in my favorite urinal. 3rd floor, mb.)
[ ] watched a sexy art film for any GE class
[ ] got held up or pickpocketed
[x] felt depressed because you were not as good academically as you were in high school (YES)
[x] did a last minute paper (actually, my mom did it for me. oh wait, does the 115 take home exam count?)
[ ] had spent a lot for 1×1 ID pictures (I print mine. hehehe)
[x] got exempted from final exams (physics10, kas2)
[ ] got exempted from a final exam but still took it
[ ] attended a varsity pep rally
[ ] watched LIVE AIDS, Androgyny, Maskipaps or any well-known variety show
[ ] promised to quit smoking
[ ] got into at least one (org- or council-sponsored) adventure race
[x] knew where the best restrooms are on campus (stat, second sem. it sucked back then. and that I realized only when I was sitting on the throne)
[ ] joined an org (had to give it up :( )
[x] allowed yourself to make mistakes (115, 117, 53, 54, mga “bahala na” moments”)
[ ] went to the gym in spite of having no PE class just to ogle varsity players / cute boys
[x] took summer classes (math54! oyeh)

[ ] had a crush on a teacher
[ ] had a teacher who had a crush on / tried to court you
[ ] attended your ROTC Bivouac
[ ] faked sickness to get an absence excused
[ ] got your car scratched by one of those “kuya bantayan ko kotse niyo” kids (I give them pisos even if I won’t be parking, para hindi nila ako gasgasan)
[ ] took a PE class where you had to pay for tuition (i.e. sportsclimbing, ten pin bowling, scuba diving, etc)
[x] went to school in your crappiest yet most comfy clothes (they said that I looked like: an activist, a preso, a tambay, etc)
[ ] learned how to use the Bayantel pay phones
[x] participated in school activities (active ako nun sa stat! hahaha)
[ ] caught the UP Pep Tryouts
[x] dated someone from UP
[x] rode an IKOT and TOKI (before pa ako nagUP)
[x] found a tambayan
[ ] went drinking at Sarah’s
[ ] learned how to beg for a higher grade
[ ] used your 6 allowable absences wisely
[ ] lived in a dorm
[x] volunteered to be beadle or go-to guy for your group / class (eager beaver me)
[ ] had the worst schedule
[ ] realized that there really is just one coconut tree on the sunken garden
[x] not used up all 6 allowable absences
[x] ate in ISSI, Treehouse, Mama Thai’s and other more obscure cafeterias (ISSI, during one of the bloggers’ meet-ups)
[ ] ate food Aristocart-style
[x] was active in your org (before I deferred, yeah. I was Sustantivos‘ assistant batch head)
[x] attended an ACLE
[ ] got as many app forms as you can during the job fair
[x] learned how to cram (dati pa)
[ ] sold tickets for (or watch) an org-sponsored movie premiere
[ ] saved money to Xerox all of your seatmate’s notes (notes ko xine-xerox. hahaha. hi Han! hi Gege! hi Ronald!)
[x] had accidentally seen a make-out session (SA AS. SA GITNANG GITNA NG AS)
[x] slept in class (physics 10. lol)
[ ] finished a homework / assignment / paper in the shopping center or philcoa (never had to. I just go home to finish them, hahaha)
[x] had mountains of unused sample exams and/or old testaments. (math, math, math, math. I actually was able to use them, as scratch)
[x] resolved to be “better this semester” ( :| )
[x] slept during a test (after finishing it.)
[x] had groupmates from hell (ie no-shows, babblers, dependents, airheads, dreamers, idea stealers, plagiarists) –grrrrr!
[x] learned how to work with groupmates from hell (yeah. naawa ako eh. baka bumagsak siya, hahaha. pero mukhang mababa poa rin grades niya)
[ ] perfected the art of parking on campus (I’m not so sure. I think the dent in the back of our car came from our school. hahaha pero pag parking sa stat, oo!)
[ ] had a bad encounter with one of the guards on campus (the guards love me)
[ ] developed a love for sisig
[ ] practiced those UP cheers in the first meeting for PE class
[ ] looked at microfilms in the library or poked through archives
[ ] reserved a classroom, AVR, etc. for a class or org function
[x] attended UP Fair (bitin! hahaha. it was hell week)
[x] went to a library other than your own college’s to research (pagoda moments)
[ ] lost a perfectly functioning umbrella
[ ] used consultation hours properly (we ate cake in Sir Vryan’s office during consultation hours. hahahaha. properly ba yun?)
[ ] went to the Guidance Office for real, heart-to-heart guidance
[x] went to the infirmary (HIGAD)
[ ] attend class with a hangover
[ ] drink beer or alcohol while inside UP grounds (is my house still in the UP grounds? hahaha)
[x] walked all the way to Philcoa or Katipunan from UP (from gym to Philcoa, at 11pm. hahaha. Katipunan, madalas)
[ ] buy frogs from NSRI or a Bio department
[ ] maxed out on the 6 allowed unexcused absences but DID NOT drop
[x] got invited or pursued by a sorority or fraternity (don’t want to talk about it)
[x] wore slippers to school
[ ] had a professor who smoked in class
[ ] got diagnosed by the Infirmary as pregnant or infected with STD.
