Anyways.
I seriously need an org. I have no tambayan (and not much friends!) in the NIP. So, being the CLG (can’t let go) person that I am, I always walk (yes, walk) to Stat to make tambay.
Whatever happened to the Bloggers’ Circle, you ask? Hmmm. All of a sudden people stopped discussing in the groups. (or are people just waiting for me? ewan). Problem is, we don’t have much undergrads who’re up and alive in the discussions. Most of the time, it’s the alumni who are talking amongst themselves. Undergrads are quiet lang.
I guess I’d just have to take Sir Garro’s advice. The first step (well, for me at least) would be to join an org. Well, how could I start an org if I don’t know how one works? Last sem I applied for an org, but eventually had to defer since I was shifting. Hahahaha.
Anyways. One of the orgs that I have been eyeing recently is AstroSoc. Since my dreams include being either an astrophysicist or a geophysicist, joining orgs related to the said specializations might empower interest and may eventually lead to the pursuit of the said specialization.
Another is the UP Green Minds (kung seryoso man yun! haven’t actually talked to anyone about it yet.). When I talked to Mr James Esguerra a few months ago, I told him that somehow, I’m still interested in Environmental Science. He told me that Physics could actually branch out to that, and I still have a change on pursuing that. So, Ate G, or anyone else! Tell me more about the UP Green Minds.
But right now, even if I didn’t finish the application process, I still go to UP StatSoc kung wala akong magawa. I just looooooove the people there (awww). Kahit saling pusa lang ako dun. Hahahahahahahaha.
UPDATE: Ok. I saw Aaron’s YM status and messaged him. He talked me into joining UP Green Minds. :D Well, I asked him some details, and stuff, and yeah, I decided na sali na rin ako. Hehehe

Hmm.. first, yes i am just 19.. hehe.. and am graduating next sem.. yey!
second, WALA PA KO PE!! Wala akong nakuha, di bale, gagamitin ko ang ‘graduating’ powers ko next sem.. hehe..
third, pero meron na akong PI 100. at 50 kami sa klase! Grabe daba? ang sikip,parang squatters..
fourth, about pagtatayo ng org, uhmm.. dapat nga mag-org ka muna.. hehe.. ngaun inaasikaso namin ang pagrecognize sa UP Parser (official student publication ng Computer Science) sa OSA. Same thing din katulad sa org..
fifth, tara buuin na natin ung UP Blogger’s Circle.. ang mahalga, merong 20 (ata) nas founding members.. tas parecognize tayo tas aun na ata? tanong nalang natin what’s next.. hehe.. ^-^

I joined the UPLB BlogSoc even if I’m just an incoming Freshman. Kapal. Hahaa.
I have no idea about orgs right now. All I know, mag-oorg ako pagdating ng second sem. Hehe.

I would recommend a provincial org, kasi kahit magshift ka ng ilang beses, hindi ka maoOP sa kanila. Pero taga QC ka eh, hehe.. Sali ka na muna ng Physics org.

Member ka sa forums ko, right? Dun tayo mag-ingay. I required all my students to register there to get the good stuff (lecture notes and other readings) so if you want to reach out to a wide-range of freshies.
Invite mo/ko din yung ibang undergrads. I’m making it a virtual tambayan for Diliman students (crowded na kasi ang Peyups eh and di tayo kasya sa office ko). :D

orgs are about people. people working with other people. pretty much all the people skills I have (kahit gano kakonti) I picked up from org life. blah blah blah etc… hehehe
I met a lot of good friends, too, and you can’t ever have too many of those.

on-going ngayon ang application process sa AstroSoc. Sa PAGASA Observatory ang tambayan. Hindi required ang stargazing. May free lecture every Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 pm upwards.
