Behold, the power of bloggers!

I said that I’ll be sleeping at 12am. Guess what? It’s 2:37am. :p

I’ve been running and hopping around blogs that concern what the kids in Taste Asia: Blogger Foodfest 2 yesterday dubbed as “pampakinis ng mukha.”

If you would remember, a few entries of mine dated early to mid April concern a gigantic company (which I would not name) with members who start attacking people through the comments sections of blogs, or even building blogs themselves.

A lot of the pro-company commentators that I have encountered mentioned that readers should not believe bloggers, as most of the time they are posting opinions, and thus, are not credible.

Now, I am in no power to justify the credibility of bloggers, as I am just a small blogger myself. But what ticked me off is the generalization of bloggers being unbelievable or incredible. Other comments that I have come through have said that bloggers are just bloggers, writing opinions that are not reliable. Others even stated that what were written on blogs just stay in the blogs.

Great. How I hate hasty generalizations (although I’m doing some right now, hahaha).

Anyways. I believe in the power of New Media. It gives you a voice. TIME Magazine even dubbed YOU (and me) as the Person of the Year, as this era gave us much much more louder voice that could be heard at all the ends of the Earth (provided that the given end has an internet connection, hehe).

I find it annoying that other people put down this kind of media, as they said that some blog entries are “merely opinions” of idiots in cyberspace. Saying that these are just opinions, I can understand. But saying that other writers are idiots? Tsk tsk tsk. Low blow man, low blow.

I am in no position and have no power to enrage the whole Filipino blogosphere, as what I have mentioned are merely opinions, hiding the facts (ie links) that I have stumbled upon, not directly quoting what I have read. But to tell you the truth, I am somewhat disappointed at the people who don’t know how to embrace things new to them.

But yeah, some commentators have said that whatever you write in blogs, must stay in blogs. So shall I just keep my disappointment here, and forget about it right after I click that little X button on the upper-right hand corner of this window?

Friend bloggers, speak up.

But then again, if I stumble upon blogging non-believers, I guess I should drag them along the next iBlogs.

EDIT: Medyo mababaw naman lang siguro to, kasi gumawa ako ng isang mabilis na generalization. XD At kasi siyempre inaway na naman ako ng mga kung sinu-sino eh.
