OneRepublic has got to be one of my more favorite bands now. And no, it’s not because of Apologize. :p
Anyways, this song is dedicated to Josie. I know you’re going through hard times right now. And I just want you to know I’m here for you. :) And of course, Someone bigger than me is here for us.
Besides random Bible passages and naturally occuring beautiful phenomena, God speaks to me through song. That’s one of the reasons why I always keep my iPod on shuffle mode, because who knows, God may have planned that seemingly random playlist of mine.
And this afternoon He did not fail me. While Josie and I were hanging out this afternoon, earphones plugged into our ears, Josie asked me to turn up the volume in one of the songs. She almost burst into tears as she felt it was Kuya Jess speaking to her through the song. And indeed, it did feel like it was Him singing the song, not only to her, but to me, to you, to all of us.
Since I haven’t been really bloghopping these past few days, I can only with all honesty just vote for one blog for this year’s Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs.
This is somewhat supplementary to the previous entry. Not in the condition to reflect and write. Am just able to read about, take in, and marvel at God’s glory.

I promised Ronin I would blog this for him, but the past few days of mine revolved around sleeping, eating, and getting soaked in the rain. The entry before this was my way of de-stressing. I had an exam 5 hours after I finished that article, and I was trying to see if I could apply what I learned to my daily and spiritual life.
HAHA.
On with the plug.
Most people think God is like the sun: fiery and fierce. So powerful that if we do the littlest of sin, He’ll scald us to death. Sometimes we even think that we can never look at God directly just like we can never look at the sun directly. Our eyes will hurt, our faces will hurt. We may think that if we approach Him, we’ll just get burned.
But, you know what I think?
It’s 4am, and I’m still up. Been doing some thinking. And it’s somekindofa extreme thinking, I tell you.
And I’m writing this in my public blog, because maybe, just maybe, you’re part of what I’m writing about.
I know I may not be the best baby,

It always bugs me how many religions in this world (yes, I believe that religions are from this world only), eternally condemn each other and non-believers. And it pains me to see how people tell each other their going to hell just because the other person does not have the same beliefs that they do.
MUST. STOP. OBSESSIVE. EMPTYING. OF. TRASH.
Two weeks ago, I started emptying the Trash in my PowerBook, when I noticed that it was deleting 100++ files. I found it weird that I was deleting a whole lotta files, I decided to cancel the operation and see what I was actually deleting.
Lo and behold, my Applications folder was in the trash. :p And I just tried to empty it!
Anyways, thinking that I haven’t deleted anything important, I resumed to regular programming. Until one day last week, I needed to open the Terminal to, you know, terminal something in, only to find out that IT WAS MISSING.
Because of all the stress and haggardness and all, I wasn’t able to tell you guys that I’ve reached my 900th entry mark in Bababa ba? with my entry about not being that present in the online world. Yes, that’s 900 entries of not having anything better to do.
Well, I guess it’s time for me to rant here because no-one from the real world is listening. Our land lords didn’t listen, our baranggay officials didn’t listen, people from our street don’t listen.
If you happen to be around Maginhawa Street one night, you might notice that there is this mini-dump site in the small parking space in front of Nanette’s Snackhaus near the first Ababu. Mini-dump site as in a place where most of the residential and commercial establishments throw ALL their trash.
Well, If it were just residents who threw their trash in our small cemented garbage box, it would be fine for me. BUT, even the darned COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS THROW THEIR EFFIN’ TRASH BESIDE OUR HOUSE. It’s ROTTEN FOOD GALORE, FOLKS.
AND YES, WE LIVE NEAR THERE YOU STUPID GARBAGE THROWING PEOPLE.
Every night, people from Maginhawa never fail to one by one walk towards our house, and THROW THEIR TRASH IN THE CEMENTED TRASH BOX BESIDE OUR GATE. AND THEY THROW THEIR TRASH EVEN IF I GIVE THEM THE MEAN I-WILL-KILL-YOU-IF-YOU-THROW-THAT-THERE STARE.
THE NERVE.
And also every night, HOMELESS AND DRUNK PEOPLE WHO HAVE SEX ON THE STREETS (YES, THEY DO IT IN MAGINHAWA STREET) GATHER IN FRONT OF OUR HOUSE, SCAVENGING FROM THE MINI-DUMP SITE, WHILE THEY HAVE THEIR RUM AND GIN SESSIONS. And not only that, sometimes they continuously ask for money and change, they act as “watch your car people” even if we’re just parking our car IN OUR GATE or we’re bringing the car outside (yes, some of them have the nerve to ask for change while we drive away because they “helped us” bring our car out).
And yes, I’m ranting and typing in ALL CAPS because I’m fed up, and I’m angry. Because really, who wants to see tons of rotten trash and homeless drunk people in front of and beside your gate? I know this house we rent is one of the best houses in terms of access, but in terms of environment and the people? Argh. Yes, your house may be super accessible, but the trash and people are just unbearable.
Whatever happened to discipline?
I went to Brookside GK Village this morning, and their place was way more cleaner and more beaufitul than our area! Even if there were some houses which owners refused to be GK-fied, the place was spruced up. And I was in Marikina this afternoon, and all I can say is, wow. Just wow. Even if the traffic was hell and the jeeps had hip-hop Speed Racer clones as drivers, you can still see how beautiful and clean their city is.
BUT HOW ABOUT OUR STREET?
Totally the opposite!
Oh Baranggay Teacher’s Village, Baranggay UP Village, Officials of Quezon City, RESIDENTS OF MAGINHAWA, whatever happened to you?
UPDATE: Our land lady was here in the morning. She said they’ll do something about it, kasi naaasar na rin daw siya sa kalat.
