And the funnest classes just had to end first. Tch.

Physics lab ended yesterday. Wonderful, wonderful classmates. Although not so wonderful labwork (and effing practical exams! Deymn). Hahahaha. We all shared our laboratory woes.

Geology lab ended this afternoon. And that was my favoritest class this sem! And no, I’m not making sipsip. Though work-heavy, it was the funnest because of the people, and most especially the teacher (promise, hindi ako sumisipsip). The last session was the most memorable one because of the little Jen-let, 4-year old Issa, who was ordering us around (don’t sit down yet! Jump! Can you draw me dog? No that’s not a dog, that’s a telescope!). Hahaha.

Oh well. I guess that’s how a lot of things go in college. Just when everybody’s starting to get along, all of a sudden the 15 minute grace period comes, and you’d have to move on to your next class.

EDIT: My PE class was concluded by Wednesday’s Dancing in September. I’m gonna miss my Itik-itik mates.

Happy 18th, Vince!

Happy 21st, panget na Patrick!

HAHAHA.

Though I know I might’ve flunked that Physics Lab exam this morning, I can sleep happy.

And cutting that Physics Lecture class was soooo worth it.

Go Ateneo!

Tsk tsk. Dalawa na atraso sa akin ng UST cheering people.

First is their controversial picture wherein some of them were flashing the dirty fingers in front of the UP pep’s dressing room.

Second is what they did after this afternoon’s game.

Ateneo and UST has always been cheering for each other before/after games, Ateneo cheering the “go uste,” and UST cheering “go Ateneo.”

Ateneo just did that this afternoon. Go uste, complete with the drums. But UST, instead of doing the usual friendship cheers, drummed a “go La Salle, go, go La Salle!”

Sheesh.

Guess what Babble did?

“U-nibersidad! Ng Pilipinas! U-nibersidad! Ng Pilipinas!”

HAHA.

Users of social media have a knack of blowing things out of proportion. Usually, one user would just need to write a few of controversial information, in which, a number of followers/believers would take on. An online/public outrage then follows.

Usually, it would end up in a gigantic snowball effect.

This has happened already too many times. I myself have written a few controversial posts which, according to my Mom, have gained a small following and even spurted a few initiatives.

Anyways. I was not surprised at how a blog entry of a UP student regarding tactless UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe members has caused a massive online outrage in both UP and UST students.

I know I’ve been biased towards my alma maters when it comes to the competitions (Ateneo for basketball, UP for cheering and dancing), so I understand where these numerous commentators come from. I mean, if something (or someone) that is a part of me was attacked, I would immediately retaliate with a few strong words of my own.

The only problem I have with a lot of commentators is that either they don’t know how to read, they don’t read on purpose, or they have read the preceding arguments but pretend to have ignored what they have read.

If you look at a few controversial massively-replied articles, blog entries or comments, most of the replies end up being redundant.

For example, in the UST SDT controversy, numerous commentators end up reposting (copy-pasting) their own comments because a few others continue to write and rebut without even reading previous arguments first.

I know copy-pasting your own comment feels like sh*t (been there, done that), but, how could you get your point across when the one you’re debating with doesn’t even read your argument?

Worse is that people end up stating arguments that are of no relation with the subject matter. I even read somewhere in the comments section of the linked article that a Thomasian is blaming the behavior of outraged UP commentators on the lack of religion in the State University. And I quote,

sublimeannuh wrote on Sep 20

I can’t blame you, walang religion sa UP. Maybe hindi lang talaga sanay na ganyan ang attitude ng IBANG Thomasians. Kasi KUNG (kung lang) Up ang gumawa niyan, hindi na kagulat-gulat. I guess you already know why.

So, wow. What kind of argument is that, eh?

And then the cycle goes on. Until now, people are posting comments on the concerned entry. Though things have cooled down a bit. :)

Anyways. Which laboratory in the the NIP deals with complex network analysis? Issues like these could make up a very good thesis proposal. Hahaha. And yes, I hope that I can survive long enough to make a thesis of my own. XD

Chapter One: Before The Storm

Fr. Bienvenido Nebres SJ was just finishing the day’s work when Harry Potter, a senior of the Ateneo de Manila, burst into his office.

“Fr Nebres!” Harry shouted

“Harry!” a surprised Nebres said. “I thought you were out of school destroying the horcruxes to kill Lord Voldemort.”

“That’s what I wanted to tell you. I discovered that there are two horcruxes here in Ateneo itself. Voldemort has enlisted the help of the De La Salle University and the University of Santo Tomas. They are coming.”

“Don’t worry, Harry.” Nebres said “You know for a fact that Ateneo– its teachers and students — are more than capable of defending our Loyola campus. We will hold them off while you search for the horcruxes and destroy them. You will need this.” He waved of his wand and out of the air appeared a sword. “The sword of St. Ignatius.” Nebres said. “Powerful enough to destroy the two horcruxes.”

“Thank you, Father” Harry said. And with that, he sped off to findthe last two things which protect Lord Voldemort.

Nebres then waved his wand once more and this time, four people appeared in his office. “Marlu, Rudy, Toby and Joey. The school is in danger”

UAAP = Wrestling?

ADMU DLSU

Now if it was a wrestling match, I’d gladly give the title to Walsham. But it’s the UAAP Men’s Basketball, not Men’s Wrestling. Jeez.

Anyways. I still don’t get it why people idolize Maierhoffer. I admit, he’s good, but he’s mayabang (wow so conyo). He could’ve been a favorite, but his yabang-ness turns me off.

When Chris Tiu sinks a shot, he just smiles. When Rico does, he raises his hands and looks at the other players with a “kaya niyo ba yun?” look.

Remember his “game winning shot,” complete with his “game winning face?” HAHA.

GUSTO KO NANG MAG-SEMBREAK. Gusto ko nang tapusin tong lintik na sem na ito. This has been the worst sem so far due to what they call Math55 and Physics111.

Gusto ko nang bumalik si Manong Driver. Bringing a car to school is fun. But bringing your other siblings to their schools is not. Katipunan is HELL in the morning. Fetching is alright.

Gusto ko nang matapos ang UAAP. Dapat kasi nanalo na yung Ateneo sa NU or Nanalo yung La Salle sa UE. Pagod na yung mga tao sa kanunuod (or baka ako lang yun?). Yesterday’s game is a prime example. The ADMU-DLSU crowd wasn’t the same crowd of ADMU-DLSU 2. Araneta wasn’t even full!

Oh well. Rant rant rant.

When it comes to the UAAP, I’ve always been quiet when people bash our basketball team. Sometimes, I laugh along with the others (”pare sweep ang UP!”). Basta, mas maka-Ateneo ako kapag basketball.

But, the UAAP isn’t really just about basketball. Diba? Hahaha.

I was quite ecstatic when they announced the results. I was jumping and shouting and screaming. HAHAHA.

Go UP! Congrats to our Pep squad!

The internet is really really good….
… for PORN!
(from Avenue Q)

LOL.

Anyways. I haven’t been updated on the recent boybastos.com issue. I wasn’t online much as recent days were spent on being haggard, and on sleeping.

It was Mom who told me about the issue.

Apparently, Loren Legarda authored Senate Bill 1375, which according to the Philippine Senate website says

Under the bill, peddlers of online porn and other “indecent materials” would be punished with up to six years in prison or a fine of as much as P500,000, or both.

The bill provides that it would be illegal for any remote computer facility operator, electronic service provider or electronic bulletin board service provider to knowingly transmit, offer or attempt to send any communication that contains indecent material, to a person under 18 years of age.

It would also be unlawful for them “to allow access to transmit indecent material to a minor.”

(full entry here)

Now while I’m not against laws regarding the internet (or the internetS according to Bush, hehe), I found this bill, again, too broad, and too easy to abuse (HSA, anyone?).

Most especially that part that says “it would also be unlawful for them ‘to allow access to transmit indecent material to a minor.’”

General admission tickets: P25

TJ Hotdog: P45

Maierhoffer’s face when officials announced that his shot wasn’t counted: PRICELESS.

And OMG, Black was happy! Black was cheering! Woohoo!

HAHAHA.

Anyways, I think I hear another protest coming up… XD

Watching the game live was soooooo worth it. Thanks to the Babble dude in Cantina last night who persuaded me to watch the game live.

UPDATE: Wow, these YouTube dudes are fast.

Woohoo! Boo Rico Mayabang-hoffer. Ang yabang kasi. If only he released the ball a fraction of a second earlier. And also, there was this epal ref who kept on calling phantom fouls on every Atenean. On the last play (Rico’s “shot”) he gave Eric a foul, counted Rico’s last shot, and then gave him a free throw (but the calls were obviously reversed by the other referees). Tch.

And it was the same referee who was responsible for Chris and Nonoy’s early foul trouble! I smell fish. And the fish is luto. HAHAHA.

I cut Physics 71. Hahaha. I badly wanted my weekend to start.

My brain was constantly battered throughout the day. Physics 111 we had this long, long seatwork. Geology exam was a mess (I couldn’t differentiate between metamorphic and igneous, tsk). And math, let’s not talk about math. Hahaha.

Come 2:30 the back of my head was already throbbing with pain, so I decided to go home.

Thank God, it’s finally Friday.

Sep 6

I am TIRED, and the week isn’t over yet. Deymn.

I have tons of problem sets due tomorrow. We tried answering one in our Physics111 make-up class, and guess what, we answered only 1 problem in a span of an hour and 15 mins. So pano pa kaya yung iba noh?

Ma’am Jing said we have an option if we would want to submit our answers or not. After all, she said just try to answer what we can actually answer. So if I can’t answer a single question, then I’d end up not submitting anything, HAHAHA.

I have a Geology laboratory exam tomorrow and I HAVEN’T STARTED STUDYING YET. The drain from the Math55 second long exam was just too much. I ended up not studying for the Geology lecture exam I had this morning (which wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Thank God for the makeup+review class).

This morning, instead of taking a jeep to the gym, I WALKED. HAHAHA. Stupid me.

These past few weeks, I have always been late for PE. The Katipunan traffic is just too much that it extends to CP Garcia and a part of the Acad oval, where the Ikot jeep passes by. The 15 minute jeep ride turns into 30-45 minutes. So I walked, in hopes that I wouldn’t be marked late (it took me around 15 minutes to get to the gym on foot). And guess what, Ma’am Lalaine DIDN’T CHECK ATTENDANCE. Argh.

And now, I’m almost cashless. I still have yet to deposit P2000 in the bank so they’d not cancel my account.

Oh well.
