At the brink of deception

Jorel is one of the most frank persons I know. But I didn’t mean that in a bad way. Hahaha.
We bumped into each other last week, after the hellish CRS experience. He told me, “BA! Kamusta? Mukha kang lasing!” (BA! How are you? You look like a drunk!)
Hehehe.
After parking the car this morning, I caught up with him when he was entering the Math building. The usual kamustahan occurs, and then he asks me about how things are going. I just told him everything that have been occuring recently (save the more personal details).
“Wow, pare. Parang ang daming nangyayari sa buhay mo ah.” (Wow, dude. It looks like there are a lot of things happening in your life.”
Well, kinda. But, if you look at how he’s doing, well, he’s busier than me, hehehe.
Oh well.
Math54 is weird. Lessons are super-duper-mega fast forwarded. We take up around 2-4 topics a day. Quizzes almost everyday, and exams are almost once a week.
We had our first exam last Friday.
Aaaaaand
*drumroll*
I nailed it. Err, I mean, I failed it.
Sigh.
Well, the day before the first exam, there was a power outage along Maginhawa Street (yes, only our effin street). So, since there was no hope in studying in candle-light, I had to go with the family to MegaMall.
How the heck could one study in MegaMall???
Yes, I had my own quiet corner corner in Tia Maria’s in the third floor, I had my tall hot white mocha but, studying at home (or in the library) was still different.
The next morning, I felt like a drunk (was lacking in sleep. :p). My stomach, too, was acting up (hyperacidity? loose bowel? irritable bowel syndrome? Am not actually sure but I had 3 trips to the bathroom that afternoon, 2 the previous day).
So, concentration went kaput, and of course, grades went kaboom.
Oh well. I still have 4 more exams. 3LEs and 1 Final exam. If ever I perfect all of those, I can get a 92.5%. If ever I perfect all the quizzes, I get a plus 3% bonus. Totaling to 95.5%
If ever that happens, I’ll get an uno.
Asa, BA, asa.
Well, not quite. :p
Still need to get my life (and sleeping habits!) back on track. Been sleeping at most around 5 hours a night the past week. It’s a good thing that I was able to sleep for around 14 hours last night. Hahaha. Oh well.
Research confirmed that my PSP’s 2GB memory stick is a dud. Sure, it can play games. But, after a week or so, other saved games get corrupted, and eventually, the game itself. I then would have to reformat the whole stick. So, goodbye PSX RPGs, as the save game function is oh-so important.
I asked around, and fake memory sticks retail at around P1350 ($27), while original ones can reach P3500 ($70).
Problem is, I don’t have that kind of money. :p
Anyone know where I can buy, cheap, original memory sticks? :p (wow, cheap and original seems like an oxymoron).
Sorry everyone. A lot of things have been happening at home (personal problems at home which I would rather not disclose to the public), and in school too. Exams tomorrow, and I still haven’t finished studying. Damn power outages.
Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon or evening, I would be replying to your emails, comments, etc.
To the UP Bloggers’ Circle: I’ll be back! Just keep the discussions going. Hindi lang naman ako yung tao dun, diba?
But, but, but, some updates on us.
On its official recognition by the university: Various discussions have been going on in the Bloggers’ Circle Yahoo! group. Sir Rommel had suggested that university recognition might not be such a good idea, because “bloggers belong to the blogosphere, beyond the reach of the University rules.”
So, Sir Rom proposed that we first make this a formal virtual organization.
Another point raised was regarding central advocacies. Alex said in his message that we should “get [our] advocacies right the first time … We don’t know if blogging will still be a feasible technology two years from now. Why not expand the idea to New Media?”
Marielle agrees with Alex, saying, “[maybe] in 5 years, blogging will go out of style… It might be better to be an organization for social media, because it encompasses so much more than just blogging.”
In the most recent message, Sir Rom addresses the concern regarding structure. He asks, “what are we trying to achieve in putting structure in an otherwise unstructured blogosphere?”
So what do you guys think?
PS. To the students, alumni, faculty of UP who have commented in my blog and other blogs re: wanting to join. We need you! :D We need your ideas, your wisdom, your help. The Circle is open to every student/alumni/faculty of UP.
Although wala pang nakasulat. Hahaha.
If you guys share my dream of creating an org for bloggers in UP Diliman, then, join up!
Our temporary name would be the UP Bloggers’ Circle.
Our Yahoo! group is http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/upbloggerscircle.
Well, as of posting this, ako pa lang yung nariyan. And wala pang laman! Hahahaha
So… If you are serious and passionate with your bloggng, and you also believe that it’s time we established an org for bloggers like us. then, join up!
I was supposed to write about something, but, the heat melted my brain away. I’ve been here staring at my “Create New Post” tab for around an hour now, while chatting, and texting at the same time.
It’s super-duper-mega hot. Oh gulay. A lot of people are complaining. If you see the YM statuses and the recent Tweets, the most common word would be the words heat, hot, and global warming. What sucks the most is that we can’t do anything about it, unless we want to spend some moolah on air-conditioning (electricity bills, rising! LOL).
Dad surprised me this morning. Starting today I can bring the car to Math. Provided that I don’t crash it, scratch it, or dent it. :p And, I must bring it home immediately. So, the heat won’t be a problem traveling from home to school, and from school to home. (special mention to the Sexiest Mother alive for being such a good persuasive speaker! Hahaha).
Windows, they say, can be super duper mega cluttered. My brother, JAngelo, recommends reformatting your hard-drives once in a while, since various files build up over time.
For example, Microsoft Anti-spyware creates a file that supposedly records the history of it’s own activity. The file (which I do not remember the name because I deleted it) can become very massive in size (ours reached around 4GB, if I remember correctly).
I was jumping in and out of partitions in my computer since the trojan incident, when I found 2 files that are very large in size: the HIBERFIL.SYS and PAGEFIL.SYS.
Now my question is, would you recommend deleting these files? My desktop computer has been gasping for memory recently (I have around only 700MB-1GB free, which is then partitioned into 4 drives). Reformatting the computer right now is not an option, since I still don’t have the capability to back up our files (tons of pictures and mp3s, no burner, no external hard drive).
Oh well.
Buuuuuut, but, but!. If you guys would want to save me the trouble of reformatting my computer, just give me a Mac as a late birthday present. XD
People thought that I was playing with my PSP all the time last iBlog3 weekend! Lol. I was actually surfing the net (tweeting, most of the time). Here’s proof.

Mom said that I must have looked like some kind of spoiled kid while I was holding that thing. XD
And oh, for Sasha: this is what the Google shirt looks like.
Just excuse the goofy face, goofy hair, the goofy Google colored rubber bands on my hair (I was having fun with the colorful rubber bands, ok?), and the big tummy. XD Lol.
Thanks, Tiff, for the shirt!

A friend had this trojan stuck on her laptop. It shows “Taga Lipa Are!” on IE’s bar. Not annoying at first, actually. Hahaha. But once you get obsessive-compulsive, it’s as if you would want to scratch the screen to take the thing out.
At first I didn’t know how it operated, so I proceeded to charge my iPod using her laptop’s USB port. And all was good.
Until I plugged my iPod to another device.
When I connected my iPod to my dad’s laptop, I started receiving error messages saying that the computer cannot start “FS6519.dll.vbs” on F:\ (my iPod’s drive). And then my anti-virus program pops up, asking me what I should do with the file.
Puzzled, I googled for the file. And guess what I found out. It was the proprietor of the “Taga Lipa Are!” virus! (oh noes). And it propagrates through the USB drive! (oh noes again!)
Well, it was a good thing that I was using FireFox for my web surfing, and AVG for virus protection. So, the virus wasn’t given a chance to start-up and spread itself (AVG blocked it at first click). It was stuck on my iPod the whole time. :p Thus, I was able to delete the virus immediately.
If you were hit with this virus, Sir Martin has links to some files that can remove this file (although I wasn’t able to try these virus-removers, since I was already able to remove it). Good luck in your virus busting!
While taking a bath this morning, I had this crazy idea.
Why don’t we found a UP blogging org?
Well, I guess it’s a bit early for that. But, with a few more connections, experience, and time, maybe we can make this happen.
So… Who’s with me?
Let the networking begin!
(UP Blogger’s Circle sounds nice. XD)
Tomorrow, I go to school.
Wait. That line sounds so familiar. XD
7am class. T-T
