Gasoline Station

Two nights ago I took a cab home. The taxi was low on gas and had to stop by the gas station.

Bored little me started to look at different things in the station. I saw something very weird and ironic (call me shallow if you will).

I saw a NO SMOKING, TURN OFF CELLPHONES sign beside the cashier. Inside the cashier were boxes of cigarettes. Turns out they were selling them.

Hahahaha. Ang labo. Bawal nga manigarilyo dun but they’re “encouraging” it by selling the cigarettes.

I almost took a picture with my camera phone, but because I follow warning signs, I didn’t. Hahahaha. Patayin nga raw cellphones eh. :P

Blog rolled back. Two deleted entries reappeared and two newly written entries disappeared. (All said entries between March 21 and March 25).

Tinatamad na akong isulat ulit yung dalawang yun. Wah.

More blogstuff…

Updated the links page. You can see the link in the toolbar between the tags and credits links. Only posted some links since other people have a tendency to switch blogs or never reveal their blogs to other people. Just message me if you want to get linked. Thanks. :)

Still blogstuff…

My post #32 (inspired daw oh) which talks about Orange and Lemons allegedly copying The Care’s Chandeliers had a little conversation in it (around 4-5 comments). Nowadays, it continues to get hits and comments, WHICH ARE MOSTLY SPAM AND GIBBERISH. Haha. Thinking of closing down the comments area, so I wouldn’t continue to receive mail about the said spam and gibberish comments.

Eto pa…

Have posted around 170++ (with a few missing and useless) entries since September 25, 2005. That’s at least a post a day! Hahaha. Not as hardcore as my old Tabulas blog where i averaged 2-3 entries a day (Mostly about boring stories of my life. Go figure).

I took a cab on the way to school today. Yes, it’s a big hassle, but I have to since near the end of the school year we had transpo problems (read: hindi na kami sinusundo ni Lance kasi madalas wala yung car tuwing umaga, haha).

Usually, taxi drivers are grouchy in the morning, constantly complaining about traffic, gas prices, corrupt politicians, high boundaries, low passenger turn-out and other things. The drivers get irritated when you say that you’ll be going IN Ateneo, not OUTSIDE Ateneo in Katipunan. They start to mumble things and hit their steering wheels whenever traffic buillds-up.

This morning was different. The taxi driver had a very sunny disposition. He even greeted me a good morning once i entered his taxi. He asked me how was school, when will it end. I told him that I was only having graduation practice and I’ll be graduating on sunday.

We continued talking and the topic reached to which college I would study in, and what course I would take. I told him I’d be continuing my studies in the Ateneo, and will be taking a sciences course (BS PsMSE). I asked him about his family, specifically, his children, to see how the driver was doing. He said his wife and two female children were all in the States, all three working as nurses. He said they were enjoying their life there and had no plans on coming back to the Philippines (except for a few visits, when time permits).

I asked him if he was to follow them. He promptly replied,

“Ay hindi na! Maka-limang pasahero lang ako, may pambili na ako ng ilang bote ng beer at manok galing sa Andok’s. Dun masaya na ako. Sa totoo lang masaya naman talaga ako dito eh. Hindi na talaga ako susunod doon.”

He advised me to enjoy life while I can. He even told me to have around 10-20 girlfriends before I graduate college (asa ka manong! haha). Enjoy and use my free-time as a teen having fun. No worries.

And he started singing to me songs about happiness. A song by Carlos Santana, a 70s song, and other songs with the message, “enjoy life.” I saw how happy this man really was.

He was still singing the said songs (well, certain lines from the said songs actually) when he dropped me in the high school. I paid him with a P10 bonus (kasi yung lang talaga extra ko), thanked him, and bade him, “Ingat manong, at enjoy!”

I thought about this person’s philosophy in life.

Enjoy lang. Basta simple, enjoy.

It’s all about enjoying the simple things right now, rather than dreaming and thinking too big. Enjoy what you have, and you’ll be happy. Of course, you’ll be happier when you achieve the big things, but wouldn’t that also be taking the little things for granted?

Think about it, if we would be satisfied with the little things and life, we wouldn’t be asking for more, and we would actually live meaningful lives. :)

So what do we do now?

Enjoy the few beers and the Andok’s chicken that you can afford after 5 passengers.

Enjoy the piece of chocolate your classmate gave to you this morning in grad practice.

Enjoy the fact that you have enough coins to pay for your jeepney fares.

Enjoy the few pesos load you have so you can text a special someone.

Enjoy the simple things, and you’ll enjoy life.

RagnarokOnlineII

Ragnarok Online 2 looks exciting. but I doubt our computer can handle it. ;p

I, myself, was once a Ragnarok Online addict, on the Philippine server. But all that stopped when I learned I could play (and I have actually played) Ragnarok for free! It was either through an offline, or private server. There I felt that I had the “power” and eventually quit playing Ragnarok. I got bored because things were “too easy” in the said servers.

Being bored was actually a good thing. It made me quit the game! Hahaha.

Now that they have launched betas of Ragnarok Online 2 in Korea and other countries, I’m starting to think of actually playing again.

Nah. Haha. There’s more to life than playing computer games. :)

Triplejack is proving that the world, is indeed, very small, hahahaha.

I was playing one morning (around 2-330 am) when I struck a conversation with fellow Filipino online poker players. Most of them were from Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA), one was from the De La Salle colleges, and the other was from the Ateneo de Manila Loyola Schools.

Being a student myself, I was interested with who these people were, what they do, how’s school life, and etsetera.

Turns out one of the ICAns was the ball date of a friend, and the others knew some friends of mine. The La Sallian was once a Xaverian himself, and the Atenean, uhhh, I forgot to ask him names of people. Hahahaha.

Just to think that the other night I witnessed a conversation between working people (who didn’t know each other) who have common friends. They were just talking about they work, their colleges, the people, and boom! A common friend. Haha.

Small world.
